Content Managemetn Systems
Website Updating and More
Working in and managing CMS systems since 2022

My history with the role
I was thrown into my first official Content Management System (CMS) while in my Product Owner role in 2022. It was a mix of Ingeniux and Sitecore Experience Platform (Sitecore XP).
There wasn’t any “official” training. I shadowed the software engineers that helped maintain and update the systems and the one, and only, Sitecore guru we had on our Product Owner team to learn the systems.
I saw a need for standardization, across our engineers and those who update the content (called “Content Authors” a that employer), so I took on that task! I put together documentation on how to put certain components together, then that led to creating standards for how we were updating content within the CMS. We soon found additional gaps with communication to people who wanted to know when changes were made, so we made processes and standards for that too. I loved consulting with users and getting feedback from them to help improve how the system is used.
Once standards were created, and documentation around them, I started focusing on getting training materials set up. I trained a handful of folks over a couple years.
I have also started working with WordPress (that is where this site is hosted) and have taken some learning courses. My current job allows me to help more and really get to know the system.
What I bring to the table
Once I am familiar with how the CMS is being used by the company, there is a lot that I can do!
Key traits:
- Support and create standards for Content Management Systems
- Create efficient documentation for processes and components
- Stand up full web pages within a day (with designs/content ready ahead of time)
- Facilitates clear communication to proper stakeholders
- Has experience with migrating content between different CMS systems
- Can train users on how to leverage the CMS efficiently
- Check pages for accessibility before publishing
This is just the high-level learnings from over the years, but there are so many more. I strive to bring clarity and alignment to teams and stakeholders.
Testimonials
Cait’s ownership of our CMS
(Sitecore) was such an asset to
our team. She was the go-to for
any CMS updates to the site,
always ready to jump in and help
or even answer questions about
limitations. Whether it was
building entire new pages or
updating existing ones, Cait
tackled each project with
attention to detail, care and
collaboration. She always made
sure stakeholders (designers,
leaders, marketing managers)
had time to review and QA work
before it went live, which helped
build trust and led to a great end
product.
Cait is a joy to work with. Her
positive attitude, proactive
communication, and calm
presence are such an asset to
any team, especially in high-
pressure situations.
Senior Product Designer
It is a joy to work with Cait. When I first
started working with her, the organizational
skills she demonstrated helped me become a
better product owner. She is constantly
observing and analyzing how process flows can
be improved, how communications can be
more effective, and how to use technology to
maximize efficiency.
As I began training Cait in our Sitecore
Experience Platform (XP) application, she
demonstrated a thirst for knowledge and
quickly became a solid resource for the
application. Her detailed knowledge and
support for Sitecore XP goes far beyond just a
content author. Cait has been able to leverage
Sitecore XP to achieve quick turnarounds for
requested content updates across multiple
sites and languages.
While Cait is a talented, hard-worker, her
delightful personality and sunny disposition
makes working with her a wonderful and
uplifting experience. Her attitude of openness
allows others to feel comfortable asking
questions and seeking her expert advice.
